At All About Care Heating & Air, Inc., we have dealt with hundreds of cases of emergency furnace repair and know how stressful it can be. No one ever wants to have to deal with a furnace emergency, particularly not in the dead of winter. Our team will do everything in our power to repair your furnace quickly to get your home back to a comfortable temperature as soon as possible. That said, furnace repairs can still take a couple of days. To help you cope during the wait, we have put together some tips on how to stay warm while you wait for repairs to be completed.
- Seal in Heat. Choose one room in your house to hunker down in — ideally one that’s small and has most of what you need (e.g. proximity to the bathroom). Bring in pillows, blankets, and any entertainment you might want into the room. Then, seal it off from the rest of the house by shutting all other doors, or hanging blankets across open doorways. The body heat generated by your family members and pets will warm the room and sealing off the exits will keep it from escaping.
- Warm Up With Food. The oven and range generate a lot of heat, so cooking a hot meal is a great way to warm up when your furnace is out. Not only will heat from the cooking process warm up the room, but the hot food will warm up your body–not to mention that a good meal or tasty treat will help keep your spirits up while you wait for your furnace to be repaired.
- Have a Dance Party. Moving around is a great way to warm yourself up, and the heat from your body will also raise temperature of the room. A dance party is also a great way to keep young children occupied and help them burn off restless energy while they deal with the wait.
With all this said, our team at All About Care Heating & Air, Inc. still understands that you want to get your furnace up and running again as soon as possible. When you call us for furnace repair, we will do everything we can to get you warm again in short order.
